UNO Ties Savannah State 3-3 Due to Curfew Rule

The Omaha baseball team ended its three-game series against Savannah State with a 3-3 tie after 11 innings Sunday due to NCAA travel curfew rules.

Both Ben Palensky and Grant Suponchick went 1-for-1 with an RBI, while Breyden Eckhout recorded the final run for the Mavericks going 1-for-3 from the plate. Thomas DeBonville has a team-best two hits on five at-bats.

On the mound, Spencer Koelewyn pitched 5.0 innings and allowed no runs, four walks and three hits with five strikeouts.

Savannah State’s Ian Concevitch pitched 8.2 innings with eight strikeouts, five walks and two earned runs allowed.

With the mid-week game against Nebraska cancelled, Omaha looks ahead for a three-game series at Santa Clara. The games are scheduled for March 8-10, in Santa Clara, Calif.
