Fremont High School golfers finished 10th on Monday in the Class A Division of the Beatrice Invitational. Lincoln Southwest (313) edged Lincoln Pius (316) for the championship. The Tigers shot 413. Cal Miller led the Tigers by shooting a 101. Kenan Brodd had a 102 while Jack Kranz and Logan Martinez both recorded 105s. Tyler Show finished with a 107.
Lincoln East downed Fremont High School 5-0 in girls soccer on Monday at Christensen Field.Briley Hill and Josie Arduser had two goals apiece for East. Jill Altmaier added one. Goalie Amanda Finnell recorded the shutout.
In the boys game at Seacrest Field in Lincoln, East won 2-0.
Track & Field
The Fremont High girls track and field team finished second at the Bellevue West Invite, yesterday, scoring 112.5 points. Millard West won the meet with 185. Fremont’s Lucy Dillon won the 400 in 59.19. Elli Dahl won the 800 in 2:21.94. Emily Nau won the 3200 in 11:44.78. The Tiger 4×100 relay of Juanita Mendoza, Kennedy Jones, Lucy Dillon and Tania Gleason took first in 52.44. The 4×800 relay of Mara Hemmer, Mia Wagner, Elli Dahl and Myia Johnson took first in 9:49.67.
In high school tennis, yesterday at Orchard Park, Blair defeated Omaha Roncalli Catholic, 8-1.
In GPAC tennis yesterday, the Midland women and men both picked up 6-3 victories over Doane, in Crete.
The Bergan baseball team scored four runs in the top of the fourth and defeated Omaha Gross Catholic, 4-2, Monday night at Gross High School. Austin Callahan went 3-for-3 with two triples. Brody Sintek pitched all seven innings, giving up three hits and striking out seven. Bergan is 9-4 on the year.
In MiLB action, the Baby Cakes’ batters bashed three home runs, including a solo shot from J.T. Riddle as part of a six-run fourth inning, while Omaha first baseman Cheslor Cuthbert upped his hit streak to 13 games and Storm Chasers center fielder Bubba Starling collected two hits in New Orleans’ 9-2 win on Monday evening at The Shrine on Airline.
