Baseball Bytes: Legion Baseball Continues Tonight, Fremont Moo Rainout Reschedule

The First State Bank American Legion Seniors stayed unbeaten with an 8-0, five inning win over Lincoln Southeast, last night at Den Hartog Field, in Lincoln.  Brody Sintek pitched a complete game two-hit shutout, striking out seven and walking one.  Mitchell Glause led First State, going 3-3 with an rbi and two runs scored.  First State smacked eleven hits in the game.  First State is 9-0 on the season and will host Lincoln East, tonight, at Novak Field, in Fremont.  First pitch is 7:30.  The game will be broadcast on Big Dog 98.9 FM and 1340 AM.  The juniors game will precede the seniors contest, at 5pm.

The Blair junior legion baseball team hosted Wahoo, last night at Vet’s Field.  Wahoo led 5-1 in the top of the second inning, before the game was called because of rain.  The seniors game was rained out, as well.  Both teams play at Mount Michael, tonight, at 5:30 and 8pm.

Fremont Moo

The Fremont Moo’s scheduled game with the Casper Horseheads at Moller Field, was rained out last night.  The two teams will play tonight, at 6:35.

Lincoln Saltdogs

Ricky Knapp threw five scoreless relief innings, and John Sansone’s tiebreaking solo homer in the 4th inning stood as the game-winner in a 3-2 win over the Sioux City Explorers at MercyOne Field on Tuesday night.

The ‘Dogs and X’s continue their second series of the year on Wednesday night. First pitch time is set for 7:12 p.m.
