College World Series
The 2019 College World Series schedule is set, as Auburn and Arkansas earned the final two spots for Omaha.
On Monday, Auburn beat North Carolina, 14-7, after scoring 13 runs in the first inning. Later, Arkansas beat Ole Miss, 14-1. The two join Florida State, Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi State, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt in the CWS field.
The first game of the College World Series will see Texas Tech play Michigan at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 15th.
The First State Bank American Legion baseball teams are back in action tonight, at Den Hartog Field in Lincoln, taking on Lincoln Southeast. The juniors play at 5:00 and the seniors play at 7:30.
The Blair junior and senior legion baseball teams are in action tonight, hosting Wahoo. The juniors play at 5:30 and the seniors play at 8:00.
After an off-day yesterday, the Fremont Moo are back home, in action tonight, hosting the Casper Horseheads, at Moller Field. First pitch is 6:35pm.
Omaha Storm Chasers
Omaha starting pitcher Scott Blewett earned his third consecutive victory with a quality outing, while left fielder Elier Hernandez drove in two runs in the Storm Chasers’ 5-3 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas on Monday afternoon at Werner Park.
Following an off day on Tuesday, the Storm Chasers are set to start a seven-game West Coast road trip, beginning with a three-game set in Sacramento. First pitch of Wednesday’s series opener is slated for 9:05pm
Kyle Kinman gave up just one run over 7.1 innings, but the ‘Dogs struck out a franchise-record 20 times in a 2-1, 12-inning loss to the Sioux City Explorers in the series opener at MercyOne Field on Monday night.
Game 2 of the four-game series is scheduled for 7:12 p.m. on Tuesday night.
