UNK Inducts 59 New Members Into Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society In Education

KEARNEY– Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education, is pleased to announce that 59 education majors have been invited and inducted into its membership through the Eta Phi chapter at UNK.

The initiation ceremony took place on April 9, 2019 at the Student Union on the UNK Campus. College of Education Dean Sheryl Feinstein shared an inspirational message about teaching for an audience of approximately 110.  

Following the initiation ceremony, 13 graduating seniors were recognized for contributing to the community and local chapter during the past year to earn honor cords for May commencement. Additionally, current members Lindsey Taylor, Hannah Ritta, and Grace Brinegar were awarded as top Chapter Members of the Year for their exemplary service.

Kappa Delta Pi inducts only those individuals who have exhibited the ideals of scholarship, integrity in service, and commitment to excellence in teaching and its allied professions.

Selection as a member of Kappa Delta Pi is based on high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career, and a professional attitude that assures steady growth in the profession. At UNK, members must earn a 3.5 GPA followed with participation points to reflect knowledge, duty and power per semester.
