BLAIR – Washington County roads crews worked over the weekend to get repairs underway for flood damaged roadways. Washington County Board of Supervisor’s Chair Steve Dethlefs says the highway department crews made County Road 30 driveable again. Crews are waiting for waters to subside on other county roads to begin repairs.
City of Blair public works department has been closely watching the flooding near the city’s water treatment plant, having to postpone other scheduled work to make sure Blair’s drinking water is safe from flood water problems. Work on a water main on 10th Street from Washington Street to Iowa street, originally slated to start today, has been moved to Wednesday, barring any flood emergencies, and will go until the middle of next week according to Blair Public Works Director Al Shoemaker.
