BLAIR – Old Highway 275 just south of Fremont is now open for traffic. Shut down for two days due to a train derailment earlier in the week, Union Pacific spokesperson Raquel Espinoza says progress is being made in the clean up of the wreckage. A train with 144 coal cars derailed early Tuesday morning, 23 of those cars left the tracks, some spilling coal. Heavy machinery involved in the clean up had forced the closure of Old Highway 275 just north of Highway 36. Espinoza says the investigation into the cause of the derailment is still underway.
